These terms cover website projects and care plans from Willows Digital, run by Mark Willows, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. They’re written in plain English so you know exactly what to expect. Your quote and these terms together make up our agreement.
1. Quotes
- Every project has a fixed price, agreed in writing before any work starts.
- A quote covers the pages and features it lists. Anything extra is quoted separately, and nothing is added to your bill without your agreement.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
2. Payment
- 50% deposit before design work starts. This books your project in.
- 50% balance when the site is ready and you’ve approved it, before it goes live.
- Invoices are due within 14 days.
- The deposit isn’t refundable once design work has started, because it covers time already spent on your project.
3. What I need from you
Websites are built around your words and photos. You’re responsible for providing your content, logos and any logins I need, and for having the right to use them. The timescale in your quote assumes I receive content when we agree; delays on either side move the launch date.
4. Changes and revisions
- The price includes two rounds of changes to the homepage design and one round on the finished site before launch.
- Further changes, or new features that weren’t in the quote, are quoted separately before I do them.
5. If a project goes quiet
Life gets busy, so here’s how that’s handled. If I haven’t heard from you for 30 days when I need something to carry on, the project is paused and I’ll let you know. If it’s still paused after 60 days, I may close it and invoice for the work completed so far (less the deposit already paid). You can restart later, and I’ll fit you in as soon as I can.
6. Hosting and care
- Every package includes your first 12 months of hosting and care: hosting, updates, backups and up to 1 hour of changes each month. Unused hours don’t roll over.
- After the first year, the care plan continues at £40 a month if you want it. You can cancel any time with 30 days’ notice.
- If you leave, I’ll give you a full backup of your site and help you move it to another host.
7. Who owns what
- Your domain name is registered in your name and belongs to you.
- Once you’ve paid in full, the website and its content are yours. Themes and plugins made by other companies stay under their own licences.
- I may show your site in my portfolio. Just tell me if you’d rather I didn’t.
8. Cancelling a project
You can cancel at any time by email. You’ll pay for the work completed up to that point (the deposit counts towards this), and I’ll hand over everything finished so far once that’s settled.
9. Responsibility
I’ll carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. I’m not responsible for problems caused by services I don’t control – such as hosting outages, payment providers or third-party plugins – though I’ll always help sort them out. My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you’ve paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a concern, please email hello@willowsdigital.co.uk first – I’d always rather put things right.
